Where are you right now on your "Who Do You Think You Are" project? What did you do over the break for the project? Did you interview anyone? Use the checklist below to figure out what you have finished, what you are still working on and what you still have to do.
I am doing pretty good in my "Who Do You Think You Are" project. I'm not completely done with my interviews, but I'm almost done. I might be a tiny bit behind, but otherwise I think I am on track. I just have to keep doing what I have been doing. I have completed the family echo, the interview questions, the email, and the Prezi is in progress.

- She did a drawing for her idea on her Stop Motion Animation.
- First of all, the drawing was really good and second of all, her camera never moved and stayed in the same place.
- His idea was a pepper mint moving around of the paper.
- His idea is really good, and his camera stayed in the same place

Journal - How did you stop motion animation turn out? If you could give it a grade, what would you give it out of 60 points? What did you learn from creating this video
My stop motion animation turned out very good. I was proud of how it turned out. I would give myself a 55 out of 60. I learned actually how to use Movie Maker. I learned how to change the duration for each slide. I also learned how to add music to my presentation. I have never used Movie Maker until this project. I think it's pretty cool.

I took all of my photos over the weekend. I just need to put all my photos on to my computer. This hour I will get my pictures on the computer using my cord. That's all I have to do today.

Journal - What are you planning on doing for your stop-motion animation video? What story are you going to tell? How will your video be fun and different? Who is taking your photos? When are you taking your photos?
My plan for my stop motion animation is loosing my shoe in the halls and then my shoe runs from me throughout the school. My video will be very different because no one else would do this. I am taking my own photos. Depending on how much work time we have, I will probably take most of my pictures at home. The story will be called the run away shoe.

What story will your storyboard tell? Explain in detail.
My storyboard tells a story about someone stealing a pencil from another kid. The kid chases him and tackles him. After he tackled him, he felt like he was king of the world. Yes, it is a pretty quick story, but it is a great one. The story is short and sweet.

Journal - What photo editing tool(s) have you used so far on your 5 photos project? Do you like the tool? Is it easy to use? Hard to use? What's good about it? Whats bad about it? Give a detailed review of the tool.
I used pixlr.com to edit my 5 photos. I liked this took it had good filters you could put on your pictures. Pixlr was pretty easy to use, it was pretty simple. They have some cool tools to make your picture look better, but there aren't that many tools. Pixlr is a really quick and easy tool, and I recommend the use of pixlr. Some of the tools like pixlr are very complicated, but pixlr is nice and easy to use.

Photo editing can make your pictures look nicer than something with no effect on them. The one thing bad about photo editing is its not the really photo, and you might not be able to see its true colors. If you just want to put an effect on the picture that's appropriate. Journal- What is your favorite web tool that we have used in class so far this year? Why is it your favorite web tool? What do you like about it? How can you use it again in the future?
I like to use Prezi in class for presentations. It is my favorite because there are many things you can be created with. And it's not just an ordinary powerpoint. I just like how the slides are set up. They are round and you can move them anywhere on your background. The backgrounds are also really cool on Prezi. I could use Prezi again to make another presentation.

Journal- Tell me about your weekend.
On Friday, I went to the Blue Valley game. They played Blue Valley Southwest, and they weren't very good. We were winning 41 to 3 when I left in the 3rd quarter. Then on Saturday I watched some college football and I had a basketball workout to go to. On Sunday, I had two basketball games with the high school at Blue Valley West. We won one and lost one. Then I came home and went to someones house to watch the Chiefs. The Chiefs won and we are 7 and 0.

What makes a presentation memorable? What makes a presentation stand out and not boring? How are you going to make your presentation better than anyone else? How will you make it unique? Explain.
Their are many things that make a presentation memorable. One thing that has to happen is the content has to be interesting and make you listeners actually pay attention to your presentation. If you have a lot of pictures and you pick a good theme of your presentation, then your presentation will stand out. I'm going to make mine better than other peoples because it will be unique. It will have pictures and will catch the listeners attention to make it unique.

What did you learn from the Ted Talk yesterday? Did you find it interesting or accurate? Explain.
I learned some things from the Ted Talk yesterday. I found the Ted Talk was very interesting. One thing that I learned was to not let technology take over my life. Their are a lot of skills that will help you out if you communicate and interact with people around you.. I found the Ted Talk was very accurate. I think this presentation was pointed mostly at kids ages 12 to 23 because at this age I feel like kids are on their phone a lot. And they feel like they have to be because everyone else is.

Technology helps us with a lot of things in this day and age. Technology has changed the whole school life in schools. You can not always rely of technology though. That is one bad thing about it. You never know when something is going to go wrong. Technology can be used to write papers and do research for school or a job. I really don't dislike any technology. If you don't know how to work something, then it is easy to get frustrated with technology.

Tell me about your Homecoming weekend (whether you went to the activities or not!). Tell me about what you did over the weekend.
I went to Homecoming on Saturday, but first I want to tell you what I did on Friday. On Friday I went to the football game, which was a good game. But we lost. After the football game, a couple of friends and I went over to somebody's house to hang out. So that was a good night. On Saturday, my group had pictures at 5 and then we went to Cinzetti's for dinner. Cinzetti's was very good. Then we went to dance which was pretty fun. After the dance we went to the after party till 1, then my night was over. The after party was really fun.

Journal - What are you weekend plans?
I have to go to family weekend at my sister's college. I don't want to go, I have to go. She goes to Southeast Missouri State in Cape Girardou. It's six hours away. We are going to go the to volleyball game and the football game on Saturday. Then finally we can come home later on Sunday. My mom says it's going to be fun, but I really don't want to go. I would rather go to the Blue Valley football game tonight. My mom won't let us leave tomorrow morning. I don't know why.

I think citing is a annoying, but I do it because it is important and you could get into some trouble. When it is necessary to cite your work, you should do it because it is the appropriate thing to do. You should cite your work when you take someone else's information, and put it into your work. Citing is very important. You could get into some big trouble if you don't cite. If you don't, it is pretty much taking someone else's work and using it as your own.

What is your favorite book, magazine, or publication? Why?
My favorite magazine is the Sports Illustrated magazines. I like these magazines because they are about sports and stuff I'm interested in. Sports Illustrated has all different kind of sports in it. Another reason why I like Sports Illustrated is because they have so many interesting stories on a certain player, team, or even a whole sport. All the writers in this magazine are very good writer, and keep me interested in the magazine.

I enjoy writing only if it is an interesting topic. One that I actually want to learn about. I like making my own story and writing that, but I also like interesting research topics that I can write on. In a lot of jobs, not all of them, writing is a good skill to have. Writing skills will help for a long time in life. They will help me finish up with high school and graduate. They will also help me in college, when I'm writing 100 page papers.

Journal - What is creating an outline for a paper important? Do you think it helps you personally? How would you prefer to outline a paper - pen and paper or an online tool? Is there a different way you know if that would prefer to organize your thoughts?
When you create a well done outline, it makes it easier to create your paper.Outlines are used to organize your information, so you can get ready to write your paper. Personally, I like outlines because it helps me write my paper, when the time comes. I like the online outline tool we are using for this project. It really helps me keep my stuff organized. Journal - Tell me about your weekend. Where did you go? What did you do?
My weekend was pretty boring. I didn't do much. As you probably know I went to the blue valley game on Thursday. On Friday, one of my friends played my cousin's team in football, so I went to that game on Friday night. It was a really good game, like it was fun to watch. On Saturday, I had a basketball workout from 1 to 3, which was a really good workout. When I got home from that, I watched college football and just laid around, but that night my friends and I went to Insidious 2. That movie was probably the scariest movie I have seen. And then Sunday, was a typical Sunday where I just laid around and watched football all day.

Journal - Who do you look up to in life? Why? What have they done to help you or guide you?
I look up to my dad in life because my dad is a good guy and he has a good job.. He makes all the money for our family, so if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have much money. I want to be like him when I'm a dad because I want to make money for my family, and protect my family just like he does. My dad has done a lot for me. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be into basketball. And I can't imagine life without basketball. He has done a lot for me, and is my role model in life. He is the best dad I could ask for.

Journal - What is good email etiquette and why is it essential in the "real" world? How can having good email etiquette put you ahead?
A good email consists of being professional and not just being one sentence. A good email is important in the real world, when your applying for a job or even working a job already. If there is two people applying for a job and they both send an email to the boss/manager, the boss will probably pick the person that had a very professional in depth email not the one with only one sentence. Lets just say an email can make or break your career.

If there was one big global issue in the world that you could fix, what would it be? A cure for cancer? Save the rain forest? Stop pollution? Think about it and then write about it. Why would you choose that specific issue?
A cure for cancer! There is so many people that die each year because of the nasty thing called cancer. There are so many types of cancer and some are more dangerous than others. Cancer takes a long time to cure, so that person who has cancer suffers for a long time. I chose this issue because my grandpa and one of my friends in middle school was diagnosed last year. I saw how much it changed my grandpa and my friends life. They were a completely different person then they were before. It was crazy how much they had to go to the doctor. A cure for cancer would change the world and save so many lives.

Journal - On Friday we discussed Public Service Announcements. In your own words tell me what they are and what their purpose is. If you could create a PSA what would your topic be? Why?
PSA's are used to inform people about something that is going on in the world. PSA's kind of raise awareness for something that is going on in the world. Their purpose is to really show how bad this thing is and they want you to donate money to help or something like that. For example a lot of people in middle school when we did PSA's did it about Kony 2012. If I was to make a PSA I would do it about animal abuse. I would try to persuade people to donate money to help these dogs out.

My hobbies are hanging out with friends, playing basketball, watching TV, and playing video games. I play basketball for Blue Valley. I spend my free time at the gym or at my house. During my free time I'm very lazy. My three favorite things are basketball, food, and sleep. I have basketball year round so I never get a break from that. Food, I love food and I love to eat. I love to sleep and when I don't get my sleep I am very cranky.

What are some qualities of a good presentation? How can you make a boring presentation interesting? Explain.
How you present your presentation is the most important thing in a presentation. If you have good voice and get the audience interested in your presentation, that will make a very good presentation. If the presentation pops and has a lot of colors and looks good, that will make the audience look at your powerpoint, prezi, etc.
If your presentation is dull and boring, you can used more colors and pictures to not make your presentation so boring. Also if you just walk up the front of the room with a boring voice like you don't want to be there, that would be very boring. You can make it more interesting my using hand gestures and having a better voice. If you do these things people will be more interested and actually listen to your presentation.

I agree with that statement, but their has to be some exceptions. I has to an appropriate picture online or you could get into some trouble. What is the importance of online safety and protecting your information? What do you do to protect yourself online? Share an experience you or someone you know has had with online safety.
You don't want to release any of your personal information on the internet or in a chat room to a stranger. Online safety and protecting your information is very important in the world today because you don't want to get into any trouble. So just be smart and don't get into any trouble.
You can protect yourself online by just not being stupid and don't get caught into any traps. I have watched videos in middle school about girls or boys being in a chat room with a stranger that is acting their age, but really is an adult. They meet up in the middle school kid immediately puts themselves in danger.

This quote shows me that everyone is different and has different skills to do different things. Anyone can change the world. I learned from this quote. I took away that I need to excel at what I'm good at because I can change the world in my own way. I also learned from Ashton Kutcher's quote that you can change anything, and be the smartest that you can be. The three things he said be smart, be sexy, and be thoughtful. Be smart mean to be yourself and change something in life. Be sexy means to be proud of your smartness and don't take it for granted. Be thoughtful means to respect the people around you. Be smart mean to be yourself and change something in life. Be sexy means to be proud of your smartness and don't take it for granted. Be thoughtful means to respect the people around you.
