Journal - What is creating an outline for a paper important? Do you think it helps you personally? How would you prefer to outline a paper - pen and paper or an online tool? Is there a different way you know if that would prefer to organize your thoughts?
When you create a well done outline, it makes it easier to create your paper.Outlines are used to organize your information, so you can get ready to write your paper. Personally, I like outlines because it helps me write my paper, when the time comes. I like the online outline tool we are using for this project. It really helps me keep my stuff organized. Sometimes you can really tell when someone does a paper, you can tell if they used an outline or not.

Journal - Tell me about your weekend. Where did you go? What did you do?
My weekend was pretty boring. I didn't do much. As you probably know I went to the blue valley game on Thursday. On Friday, one of my friends played my cousin's team in football, so I went to that game on Friday night. It was a really good game, like it was fun to watch. On Saturday, I had a basketball workout from 1 to 3, which was a really good workout. When I got home from that, I watched college football and just laid around, but that night my friends and I went to Insidious 2. That movie was probably the scariest movie I have seen. And then Sunday, was a typical Sunday where I just laid around and watched football all day.

Journal - Who do you look up to in life? Why? What have they done to help you or guide you?
I look up to my dad in life because my dad is a good guy and he has a good job.. He makes all the money for our family, so if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have much money. I want to be like him when I'm a dad because I want to make money for my family, and protect my family just like he does. My dad has done a lot for me. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be into basketball. And I can't imagine life without basketball. He has done a lot for me, and is my role model in life. He is the best dad I could ask for.

Journal - What is good email etiquette and why is it essential in the "real" world? How can having good email etiquette put you ahead?
A good email consists of being professional and not just being one sentence. A good email is important in the real world, when your applying for a job or even working a job already. If there is two people applying for a job and they both send an email to the boss/manager, the boss will probably pick the person that had a very professional in depth email not the one with only one sentence. Lets just say an email can make or break your career.

If there was one big global issue in the world that you could fix, what would it be? A cure for cancer? Save the rain forest? Stop pollution? Think about it and then write about it. Why would you choose that specific issue?
A cure for cancer! There is so many people that die each year because of the nasty thing called cancer. There are so many types of cancer and some are more dangerous than others. Cancer takes a long time to cure, so that person who has cancer suffers for a long time. I chose this issue because my grandpa and one of my friends in middle school was diagnosed last year. I saw how much it changed my grandpa and my friends life. They were a completely different person then they were before. It was crazy how much they had to go to the doctor. A cure for cancer would change the world and save so many lives.

Journal - On Friday we discussed Public Service Announcements. In your own words tell me what they are and what their purpose is. If you could create a PSA what would your topic be? Why?
PSA's are used to inform people about something that is going on in the world. PSA's kind of raise awareness for something that is going on in the world. Their purpose is to really show how bad this thing is and they want you to donate money to help or something like that. For example a lot of people in middle school when we did PSA's did it about Kony 2012. If I was to make a PSA I would do it about animal abuse. I would try to persuade people to donate money to help these dogs out.
